Why I Became a Financial Advisor

I was born and raised in NY. I began my career as a Management Consultant with Accenture and EY Cap Gemini.  I really enjoyed working with new clients, getting to know their businesses really well, and identifying areas where our firm could add value. The idea of potentially growing their business and causing them to add jobs was inspiring. I am proud of what we were able to accomplish working side by side. That was a very exciting time of my life but being on the road and in airports so often got old. It was time for a career change.

As a Financial Advisor, I get to spend time with people, get to know them well, and help them identify and pursue their financial goals. That sounded like a good career change to me…and no more Rocket Man!  I am proud of what my clients have accomplished over the last ten years and I’m excited to see what they will accomplish for their families and their businesses in the future.

I am part of LPL Financial because I truly believe that objective financial advice is best for clients whether that is an individual, a family, or business.   LPL Financial is a family and a team. Working as a team, I have access to experts in all areas of personal finance as well as a wide selection of products and services to help my clients pursue their life goals and financial goals.

In his role as Plan Manager at LPL Financial, Ross supports Virtue Wealth Management where he assists in developing and executing comprehensive financial plans. As a member of the LPL Paraplanning Services team, Ross partners with advisors to deliver financial planning support by providing detailed data analysis and cultivating planning strategies to assist clients in reaching their financial goals. LPL’s Paraplanning Solutions group is not affiliated with Virtue Wealth Management.

Ross’ financial services career launched in 2007 where he served as a Financial Services Officer and Financial Planner prior to joining LPL Financial in 2023. Ross received his Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and Master of Business Administration from East Carolina University, and he received his CFP® designation in 2013. He is also an Enrolled Agent (EA).

Ross and his wife live in Greenville, North Carolina where they are raising their daughter. They are actively involved in the community, are avid golfers, and love to support the ECU Pirates.

My focus is to help clients create wealth, enjoy it, and preserve it over their lifetime and generations to come. An advocate for small business (see above picture of me speaking to small businesses at an SCV Startup event), I work hands-on with companies to provide high quality retirement plans with fun and engaging education workshops (yes, fun AND engaging. Not having fun in your workshops? Call me and let’s change that!) for plan participants. I earned the PPC designation to help employers optimize their company sponsored retirement plans by helping participants pursue their retirement goals as well as keep compliant with the ever-changing government regulations.

An advocate for small business, I founded SCV Startup, the technology Startup Community in Southern California with a mission of creating and curating high-tech companies and jobs in Santa Clarita.  In September 2017, I am proud to say I was recognized with the Entrepreneurial Impact Award for this work with SCV Startup over the last several years promoting and nurturing the startup community in the Santa Clarita Valley.  I am proud to tell you I have be named to the “The Valley 200” by The LA Business Journal in 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019 (and actively working towards 2020). The Valley 200 recognizes the “200 most powerful business people and leading opinion shapers in the San Fernando, Santa Clarita, Conejo and Antelope valleys”.
